Estate Planning
This is a process where you make decisions about what happens to your property, both real and personal, when you pass away. Many times, people procrastinate and do not have a plan in place at the time of their passing. In that situation, their loved ones have to try and navigate through loss and going through property after your death. You can alleviate this stress by having a plan in place through a trust or will.
This would also include questions you would have about the probate process if you are dealing with it on behalf of another person.
Criminal Law
The majority of cases I deal with involve criminal law and defending people who have been charged with a crime. These crimes range from simple misdemeanors up to felony offenses. The misdemeanor cases include speeding, stop sign violations, Driving under the Influence, Simple Assaults, violation of a protection order. Felony cases include Possession of a Controlled Substance, Ingestion of a Controlled substance, Aggravated Assault, Assault Against a Law Enforcement officer and enhanced Driving under the Influence cases.
Family Law
Family law is a large area of law that encompasses divorce, child custody, termination of parental rights, adoption and even mediation services. These types of cases are very emotional on parties and require time and attention to deal with the proper details. With a background in mediation, my office is able to provide unique ideas in order to come to a resolution that works best for your family and situation.
